Social Security System

The Social security system in Korea consists of three parts; social insurance, public assistance, and social welfare services. While Korean society has enjoyed dramatic socioeconomic development during the past 30 years, social problems, such as rapid urbanization, globalization and income disparities, bring to various government policies implementation to resolve them. The Ministry of Health and Welfare (MoHW) is primarily responsible for the social security schemes.
