OECD to hold Government After Shock Global Forum

entitled Health Systems for the Future- Resilience, Collaboration, innovation

President Sun Min Kim of Health Insurance Review and Assessment Service(hereinafter HIRA) is going to participate in roundtable discussion entitled Health Systems for the Future- Resilience, Collaboration, and Innovation as a panel in a global event, Government After Shock, hosted by OECD in November 18 at 7 p.m. in Korean time.

 

The roundtable discussion will be moderated by Mark Pearson, Deputy Director for Employment, Labour and Social Affairs of OECD for 75 minutes with sharing opinions for building well-organized health system and managing public healthcare service in the future.

 

The discussion consists of four members including the moderator, Ran Balicer, Chief Innovation Officer & Founding Director (CRI), Ilze Vinkele, Minister of Health from Republic of Latvia, and Sun Min Kim, President of HIRA in Korea.

 

In this opportunity, the measures introduced to curb the spread of the virus and new behaviors (hand washing, social distancing) required to adopt and comply with new ones to citizens will be discussed whether these will be dependent on circumstances of the crisis or countermeasure for long-term resilience of health system.

 

Especially, president Sun Min Kim is going to share experience of Korea, including with leveraging data and digital innovation, highly praised for early response to COVID-19.

 

Global leaders from each country are scheduled to participate in this event which will be held for two days from 17-18 November 2020 to come up with governments innovative countermeasures for responding crisis.

 

The two-day event will focus on three questions related to the crisis such as what do we need to leave behind from this shock, what do we want to keep and what should we do differently and the participants share in-depth related opinions.

 

On the 1st day, various stakeholders roles including peoples from local community will be considered targeting for rethinking and rebuilding through innovation and virtual forum will bring together contributions from high level leaders to discuss collaboration for systemic change beyond crisis.
