Kim, Sun-min takes helm of 10th HIRA President

- Promise to make HIRA, loved and trusted by all people -

 

□ Health Insurance Review & Assessment Service (hereinafter ‘HIRA’) celebrated new president, Kim Sun-min who took the office as the 10th president of HIRA. She pledged to make HIRA leap forward, loved by all people at her inaugural ceremony on April 22.

 

□ In the inaugural speech, delivered in HIRA headquarters, “Outside of HIRA raised questions about efficiency of review and assessment as our main function and inside & outside communication’s methods are required to be a complete change for rational decision making due to increased number of staffs.” president said. “Furthermore, adapting to the New Normal after COVID-19 is also no exception to us. It might be difficult to pioneer the road that no one has charted before but let’s go together.”

 

○ Dr. Kim added, “This year celebrates the 20th anniversary under the name of HIRA. I want to tell HIRA staff to devote all energies to make concerted efforts to step up HIRA, beloved and trusted by all people.”

 

□ President Kim graduated Seoul National University College of Medicine (Preventive Medicine) and obtained Master’s and Doctorate degree from the university. Dr. Kim worked as professor with Hallym University College of Medicine, Director of Division of Human Rights Research in National Human Rights Commission of Korea, WHO Advisory committee member for global report on Safety and Quality of the World’s Health Care Services, and OECD Chair for Working Party on Health Care Quality and Outcomes.
